The Industrial Private Unitary Enterprise Tzvelit (abbreviated IPUE "Zvetlit") of the Byelorussian Society of the Deaf, situated in Grodno, Belarus, was founded by a BelOG (the Byelorussian Society of the Deaf) Central Board Presidium Decree in November, 1959.

 

The enterprise is legally registered. It has all mandatory seals, stamps and bank accounts. The enterprise provides professional training and employment for deaf citizens of Belarus.

 

Tzvetlit is a private enterprise founded on private property of the BelOG. The property right belongs to the Byelorussian Society of the Deaf. The Director is at the head of the enterprise who independently makes all decisions except those related to the BelOG, the Labor Collective Conference and the Enterprise Council. The Tzvetlit's main goal is social and labor rehabilitation of the deaf as well improving welfare for them.

 

The plant is capable of carrying out the following: pressurized casting, rubbers and plastics pressing and casting; mechanic processing of parts by aggregate, turning, drilling and other metal-cutting machine-tools; press-forming.

 

Technologic production processes at the Tzvetlit plant include processing stock materials into half-finished products in the casting work-shop, processing in a mechanic work-shop, cold press-forming, galvanic processing, assembly, and packaging. Most half-finished products are produced in a casting work-shop by means of pressurized casting into metal forms.

 

Industrial frequency induction furnaces are used for brass casting, crucible resistance furnaces are used for aluminum alloy casting. Plastic parts casting is carried out on thermoplastautomats. Production of rubber parts is made with hydraulic presses by means of so-called "direct pressing".

 

Major technologic process operations in the mechanic work-shop are carried out on aggregate and special machine-tools. Cold press-forming includes press-forming on crankshaft presses and pressing automats. After assembly, testing, and packaging finished products end up in the ready-for-sale warehouse.

 

The enterprise has enough qualified manpower. The number of the working personnel as of 01.02.2007 amounted to 736 persons. Among whom - 448 deaf persons. Managers - 42, servicemen - 1, and specialists - 52. The mean qualification grade is 3.0 taking into account that over 60% of the workers are deaf. All qualification standards may be found in workmanship instructions. The number of managers, specialists and servicemen in comparison to the workers is 12.9%.

 

Water and gas shut-off products made by Tzvetlit are in high demand in local, national and international markets. Percentage-wise around 60% of all the production is used in local and national markets, 40% is intended for export. This includes Russia and the CIS - 86% (Russia makes 60%, other CIS countries 26%), far-away foreign countries - 14%.

 

Close attention is paid to the quality of the products. Prior to delivery to the customer finished products are formally are tested and accepted in accordance with the terms in the Standards and Technical Requirements. The enterprise has its products voluntarily certified in the GOST R Certification System at the All-Russian Scientific Research Institute of Standardization and Certification. Percentage-wise certified products compared to the overall commodity output make 98%. All products subject to state hygienic registration have certificates issued at the Grodno Regional Center of Hygiene, Epidemiology and Social Health, Certificate of Quality Management System for Gas and Water Shut-Off and Regulating Armature in accordance with ISO 9001-2001, and registered in the National System Conformity Register of the Republic of Belarus.

 

The gas, water shut-off and regulating armature by Tzvetlit is on great demand in local, regional and international markets. The majority of the Tzvetlit consumers in Belarus are plants of sanitary half-finished products in Grodno, Vitebsk, Mogilev, Minsk as well as construction organizations and wholesale and retail trade firms.

 

As for Russia here are some of the largest enterprises purchasing Tzvetlit products: CJSC "Santekhkomplekt", OJSC "Tzennervodopribor", Zhukhovsky Machine-Building Plant, OJSC "Beltekhkomplekt", OJSC "Rostovselkhozmontazh" etc. Tzvetlit products are on demand in Bulgaria, Uzbekistan, Ukraine, Moldova, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Lithuania, Latvia, the Seychelles, Poland and Egypt.

 

The plant won the International Golden Star Prize for Quality and Perfection in 1997. It was a winner of the International Technologies and Quality Cup in 1999 and was decorated with the National Economy Leader Medal of Honor.
